The Panda pentrometer can now receive realtime GPS information and co-ordinates from each test site undertaken. Once the location has been plotted, the information is stored with the sounding file and cannot be subsequently altered or manipulated in any way.
This will prove invaluable where extracting both research or compaction readings in rural, urban, or remote access areas, along with identifying locations for subsequent monitoring or inspection.
With regard to highways or street works, such information will also allow for requirement of the TMA (Traffic Management Act 2004) where GPS information will now be utilised.
