We assist clients with data capture and inspections to allow for asset or network mapping with GPS systems and co-ordinates. This has proved invaluable when damage to infrastructure may have occurred due to third party intervention, or provision of service has been affected. Where such assets have been compromised, operatives involved in location and repair have greatly improved on response times, thus ensuring client or customer confidence.
This especially applies to rural areas where such assets are masked or obscured by unchecked overgrowth, and swift identification may be required. This is also utilised in PPO inspections where issues may have been identified and information can be relayed to remedial operatives if applicable. When paired with the remote inspection system, this becomes a powerful tool for rapid response to potential asset or network issues.
With regard to laboratory sampling, all locations visited are notated with GPS co-ordinates so as to allow for verification of test site.
One of our projects involved plotting more than 1300 assets over a 160km network which have been inspected, photographed, and entered onto a database for access to information when required. This eliminated continuous site visits to ascertain capability of network, and allowed for a successful outcome for live planning updates.
